Community Benefit Fund

As part of our commitment to being a good neighbour to the communities in which we operate, Wheelabrator Technologies is providing a community benefit fund for local community groups and organisations. The fund is £50,000, which is being made available during the three-year construction phase.

We will accept applications from projects or organisations that will directly benefit the Deeside Partnership area. Organisations who are based outside of this area are eligible to apply, as long as they can prove how the award of funding will have a beneficial impact on the communities within the Deeside Partnership area. This covers the Flintshire County Council wards of Connah’s Quay, Shotton, Garden City, Queensferry and Aston.

Once the facility begins operations in 2019, the construction phase funding will be replaced with a new annual community fund which local groups and organisations can apply for. This new fund will be worth £230,000 a year and will be contributed by both Wheelabrator Technologies and the five partner authorities.

You can download a PDF version of our application form here and a Word version here. Once you have completed your application form, please send it to
